Love Notes 1 (7 days to valentine)

#LoveNotes #micropoetry #valentine
#7daystovalentine

I grew up thinking Valentine was a man's game and the woman always the receptor
but the older I got I realised love is better when the 2 tango.
So, I will be writing these notes to celebrate the greatest feeling a person can have
and experience ~ #love because #ilovelove #inlove #forlove

And to "you" this is my love gift wrapped in forever and a day more.

Share some ♥ this season, let it fly free!

365 days of disclosure

Many of which were a blur

Unclear paintings of me

Trying to build a new life – a new me

Struggling between holding the reins

And letting go for Omega who reigns

Forgetting that Alpha started it

And stands at the end to complete it

Prayers in May that birthed a vision

Supplication became a mission

Of equations that end in same numbers

Of serene sleep and slumbers

Again I stand at the door

Looking back at my store

But gripping unto futures hope

A new age of beauty's scope

I flourish

I flourish

I flourish

Opening this door of light

I am ready to continue the fight

Baring my scars as conqueror

Offspring of the divine Emperor

I win

I win

I win

What If Jesus

What if Jesus had spent his adult years sulking about the circumstances of His birth, growing up as a carpenters son and trekking the length and breath of Isreal?

What if Jesus had spent his days questioning His destiny because his past was in a manger? What if He began to doubt His divinity because of His birth place?

Oh and Egypt, what if it wasn’t cool to be from Africa? How about his hands, He must have ruined His fingers being a carpenter’s apprentice

So established, Jesus’ background sucks!

But we never hear Him wallow in self pity or doubt His glorious future because of His ugly past.

He didn’t contemplate suicide because the thought of the cross was too dark

Jesus stayed in the future. He kept His focus on what was to come, the glorious days that the growing pains will reveal. He lived the past and present based on the word, the prophecies not questioning the process but loving the product – YOU, ME . . . US

He bore His past like a general with battle scars

He lived His present like a man on a mission

He certified a future by love’s call setting an example for us to follow

Listen;

There will be pain and scars, battles to fight, mind strongholds to pull down, all as a result of our journey to greatness.

But like Jesus, we look to the life after the cross, the glorious existence with Abba Father and we forget the past and set our minds on Him

Jesus, His life, His death, His burial, His ressurection

And because He now lives like the king He is we’ve got no choice but to do same

He is risen.

Jesus Our Christ is risen!

Village Christmas

Its was village Christmas again.

Here I was taking a 20minute break from my 50+ relative at the family house as we take a pause from the family meeting to have dinner.

It is exciting to see everyone but having 50+ people cramped in a room eventually becomes exhausting. I just finished a 15minute talk on entrepreneurship and knowing my family to be the best critics I put in my very best and yes I knocked it right to Antartica.... Yipeee

As I waited for questions I began to see a market in Warri, Lagos, Abuja, Anyingba and Makurdi through my family connections.

"Always remember to exploit the opportunity your family presents to expand your scope"

My hide out was eventually compromised.... #AuntyDuties #Tmama #LovelyNiece

As the clock reads 12.03am my heart skips a bit

It’s yet another year, another journey, another experience

For the first time in years I feel a little different

Maybe it’s the geles I’ve been tying in the previous year

Or the business I started that has gained such traction

Or the relationships I lost or gained

I feel more aware of time’s passing

My heart feels fuller and emptier at the same time

My mind racing unsuccessfully to meet times expectations

All I can see is what I hadn’t gotten from my ’15 bucket list

My lips form prayers of gratitude my heart can’t disguise

Then Kari Jobe’s “Forever” floats to me from my phone

And instantly I realize what I have always known

He is alive and so I am!

I have overcome the grave and live free ‘cos He did

I’m more complete and secure today than yesterday because of Hallelujah

As the tear slips out so does the smile of gratitude

Then the overwhelming assurance of love and hope despite my list

Its time again to sing “Good Good Father” by Kally Heiligenthal

And go crazy in celebration to “Joy” by Planetshakers

And get on my stilettos to dance ’16 to an awesome finish

ON MY TERMS

I waited.

Fell asleep while waiting, woke up intermittently and checked my phone. All I wanted was a reply. It took me a long time to realise that he doesn’t reply messages within the first 4 hours of reading them in fact it may be 24hours before a response comes in and it just made my eye twitch.

I am sure some of you will say “it’s not such a big deal” but I have come to realise that I may have a mild case of OCD and therefore things have to be done a certain way. I arrange cups according to types and sizes (and the colour may influence it too) in my cupboard. I shut my wardrobe every night before I sleep because the tiny creaking noise irritates me and keeps me awake. It costs me a lot to walk away from my car if the tires are not straight. So I love some order like getting a reply to a text especially if “you” started the conversation.

Life is on your terms!

I said that to the audience at a seminar and they looked a little unconvinced and I explained about my OCD(ness) and told them that they make choices every day to be who they are even if influenced by someone else ultimately the choice is theirs.

This is seen clearly in the kind of friends we keep. Most of the friends we have allow us be ourselves even when they don’t like it. But that is the prerequisite for good friendships. If I know I can be myself with you then it will be easy for me to be around you and to want to spend time with you. So when I walk into a room I unconsciously study facial expressions and body language to pick a seat because I don’t want to sit beside someone who makes me uncomfortable. And if they smell, I change seat. I don’t say “oh maybe they are broke and can’t afford cologne or a bath” I just take off because there are other seats in the room.

Above all else be accommodating but do not change who you are for someone else because you will become a fraud and loose sense of what’s important to you. When your personality is not clear to people it confuses them and they stay away from you.

Be yourself.

While you’re at it BECOME A BETTER YOU.

My Many Faces

A few days ago my sister asked how many faces they were in this picture and we all got it right and it got me thinking about how many "talents" I had that would be called my many faces.

To some I'm daughter, sister others friend, buddy, colleague, consultant, teacher and still others see me as writer, speaker, strategist and trainer.

Someone asked me once if I would compromise on any one of my faces at anytime maybe for a guy, someone else said maybe I should slow down not to frighten them away.

I say, what would I say to my Abba Father if I bury my talents in the ground and do not get 10 more? What would happen to those who need me to be the face they can relate with to live life a little better? Shouldn't the people in your life enhance you rather than make you hide?

I choose my 10 talents and I wear my many faces with pride.
To all the multi talented people, we make the world the eclectic place of colour it should be. #Talented #Faces #Life #Love #Give #Purpose #JustBe #StrongWoman #Passion

Voices That Live

I have questioned many things in my life mainly because other people questioned them and this threatens to awaken my slumbering worry-nature.

The concern or sometimes outright pity in their eyes makes me wonder if something went wrong or if I went wrong and I begin to doubt myself and then God.

But then I remember that just His voice brings life into every seemingly dead situation and yet again I lay it all down at the altar, acknowledge my weakness and helplessness and let God rule!!! So when my heart gets heavy by a careless comment made in concern or spite I remember that I listen to His voice and it gives life to my seeming handicap, dead situation or lack and I #rest because HE HAS SPOKEN!!! John 5:24-26

The question is: who's voice speaks to your situations?
Who's voice do you listen to?

Saved By Sacrifice

He thought he heard a tremor in the ground

And because he was expecting it Corban knew it had to be it
He had waited 3 days to hear it.
It was what he had read about and what his mother believed but his father was a sceptic being a man of the robes and all. He agreed to the rising but not of a nobody whose activities were questionable or were they?
Corban had always followed his mother to the chagrin of his father but she was always right.
As he trembled from hair tips to toe nails, he wished he was standing right in front of the great stone when it happen.

He wasn't an ordinary spectator like many others.
They had had a conversation once even though he spoke and all he got was a wide smile and a slight nod. But ever since then anytime their eyes met there was recognition in his and of course that smile.

Everybody knew the smile even the men of robes, he smiled at everyone especially the children. Some said his affinity to children was because they had hearts unsoiled by life and his mother said, children were his until they began to make their own choices
He never really understood that but he his mother always read the writings of Moses and they had the ability to make you sound crazy

As he ran to the great stone he saw his mother’s friends leaving in a big hurry and he stopped. They walked past him consumed by their haste and didn't see him. All it seemed Mary kept saying was "alive alive alive" as they broke into a run. He also ran to the great stone that now lay on the ground slightly leaning on the side of the rock but no longer blocking the doorway and he looked in and it was empty. Mary's voice came back to him "alive alive alive" and he laughed out loud for so long he was sure he would wake up the sleeping guards. His mother was right after all. Oh the look on the faces of the men of robes, hehehehehe....now his father would take an early retirement and listen to his wife.

As Corban ran after His mother’s friends, he knew she will be with them at the shelter. They had been therefore the 3 days waiting to prove everyone else wrong.
He entered the room and saw his mother’s eyes awash with tears and she looked up at him and smiled and in the loudest whisper she said YESHUA IS RISEN

As they began to dance and rejoice, 1 of the 70 (you knew them by their wristbands) said,
Lift Him up oh lands and peoples
YESHUA is alive
Just like it was told to us
And now we have experienced
YESHUA is the saviour
He has led us straight to God
We are now made whole by His gift
Free to live free
No more blood sacrifices
YESHUA's blood has done it once for all

Corban was so lost in the frenzy he didn't see his father sneak into the room and hug his mother mouthing a "thank you". His robe was gone now he was just a man saved by sacrifice.

Before I shut my eyes to my minds wanderings

And enjoy the visions of a new year

Let me once again pen down words of gratitude

And frame my heart in letters that can be shared

To my God, Father, Love and Satisfaction – in You I exist in total bliss

To my Parents and siblings, my first partners – in you I receive love unconditionally

To my friends, my mentors and protĂ©gĂ©s  – in you I see self-affirmation

To all who say a prayer for me – in you I have confidence

Thank you

I am grateful

I still have many more years to prove you right

I will say the prayers of replenishing for you

For the blessings I will enjoy from your goodwill

May my hearts joy at this moment be your reality.

Amen

My Sunday Prayer

Lord You Know the mess we make of our lives,

let Your word today renew our minds that our hearts

may be restored to love you as purely and simply

                                                              as is possible to man.
And to love our neighbours past our present hurts and discord.

And to be as You intended, a people of worship and

                                                                love and character,

showing the world the way to you by these.

                                                                         Amen

A LETTER FROM GOD TO WOMEN

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you. Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects his heart and his lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.

Around this one bone I shaped you. I modelled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully.

A Single Lady’s Prayer

Lord give me my own man
Who is not confused by the multiple relationships he has had
And knows your will is lost in his refusal to wait and receive from you
And his confidence is seared because it has been one mistake after another
And now he doesn't know who is right for him for he has forgotten to ask you and be led by you

And so the New Year begins

Every year I wait to feel differently on my birthday and I don’t

I stay up till the clock says 12:30am just to sense something new and I don’t

Am I meant to feel older, happier, sober…I don’t know

Am I meant to cry, laugh…I don’t know

One thing I never fail to do is pray and pray some more

I’m grateful for a good life, wait a minute it is more

I have had a great life and some more

And so I give thanks and pledge to live my life for Him and man

It’s not as smooth as it sounds but this is how grace is made

I wait and see and the Lord is good one more year and always

I may feel nothing, but I know one thing as always

Goodness and mercy are my peeps all the days of my life

Because He says so and holds my life

So I am ecstatic at the prospects of the New Year

And now I am expectant

Because it holds more beauties than the last year.

It is 151214!

Please indulge me...

And so it comes again, that date that tells me I have spent another year on earth. I'm excited but pensive as I think of living and living purposefully, counting my days and hoping they count.

I think of all I want for gifts; an iPad mini, a new blackberry (I haven't gotten the android fever just yet except its a galaxy note 3 lol), a new wardrobe, stuff for my place, cash for fuel, rent and jollification, a trip to Tinapa, no debts...etcetera, yes the list is endless...

But 1 thing I'm sure of is that I would love everyone I know to do some good in my name on Sunday, the 15th (my birth date). Just be a blessing to someone and say a prayer for me and that would make my year. And share the experience with me afterwards.

Love is the greatest gift, join me and show some on my day.

God honour you....thank you!

Star Struck with Ramsey Noah

I spoke with Ramsey Noah today!

I know for some of you that doesn't mean a thing but for me it means a lot. Growing up, Ramsey Noah was the "oyinbo" of Nigerian movies and he spoke so well we were all star-struck. I thought I was over it until I saw him a few years ago at a friends event in Makurdi and he looked so clean and well dressed he literally shone (well compared to the people around him) and then Stella Damasus showed up at the same event and I promised myself I will act in a movie just to see if it gives you a freshness that you can't get otherwise. Stella looked so beautiful, the governor had her moved to sit beside him further away from my view but who can blame him, she was the most beautiful lady there.

I concluded that day that money shows if you know how to apply it. And yes, I will make lots of it and show it!

I had heard from a friend that I could get very nice laptop bags from mega plaza and so I went there and tried to find one. Well I didn't and as I turned away from the aisle to walk out, there stood Ramsey Noah talking with a sales agent about a microwave. I kept walking towards them thinking, do I smile and play cool, do I ask for a picture, do I mention a movie of his I liked, I couldn't come up with anyone as it had been a really long time since I had watched any then I remembered "Dangerous Twins" but in all honesty I had only watched the soundtrack and I was getting closer. I got to them and he politely moved out of the way for me and I said, "Hello Ramsey" with a shy smile and he said, "Hello Madam" with a small smile and I moved on like that was the most normal thing to do still smiling silly.
I almost ran over my friend in my excitement although I caught myself and instead said very calmly, "I just saw Ramsey Noah and I said hi, he replied" and he goes, "They say he is a nice guy" I then blurt out, "But he is going bald" and my friend says, "He's getting old" and I was suddenly horrified at the thought of one day running into an aging Ramsey Noah or Denzel Washington or George Clooney. . . I screamed "the horror" in Sheldon Coppers (The Big Bang Theory) voice and turned my mind to more pleasant thoughts.

For Elder

I am in pain!
Death has struck again and I am stuck with all these questions again. My heart aches not just for the family and friends of the deceased but for another brilliant mind taken from us, our loss.
The last conversation I had with Elder went like this;

I Pledge

Happy independence to all Nigerians!
I am a proud Nigerian, anyone who knows me knows that and I get frustrated at the pessimists who go on and on about the issues we have. I love my country and I will keep the picture of a great country ever before me.

This morning I woke up with Nigeria on my mind and then my phone beeped and I got this rendition of the pledge from my friend and straight away I knew I had to share it with everyone.

The Difference He Made ~ Anonymous

I don't know who wrote this piece but it touched my heart and I hope it touches something in you.

"THE DIFFERENCE HE MADE"...'Amidst the morning mist of the swift returning tide, I set out on my daily run, my walkman on my side.Lost within my private world apart from cares and woes, I ran along the moistened shore, the sand between my toes. In the distance I saw a boy, as busy as can be.He was running, stooping, picking up, and tossing in the sea. Just what he threw, I couldn't tell, I looked as I drew near.It seemed to be a rock or shell~as I approached him I could hear. 'Back you go,where u belong, your safe now hurry home.Your family's waiting for you little starfish, hurry on!It seemed the evening tide had washed the starfish on the shore, And the swift receding water left a thousand there or more. And this self-appointed savior, was trying one-by-one to toss them back into the sea, against the racing sun.I saw his plight was hopeless, that most of them would die.I called out from my private world,'Hey kid, why even try?'. 'Must be at least a thousand here, strewn along the beach, And even if you had the time, most you'll never reach. You really think it makes a difference, to waste your time this way?'And then I paused and waited, just to hear what he would say. He stooped and took another, and looked me in the eye.'It makes a difference to this one sir, this starfish will not die!' With that,he tossed the little life, back where there was hope.He stooped to take another.I could tell this was no joke. The words that he spoke to me cut like a surgeon's knife.Where I saw only numbers,he saw only life. He didn't see the multitude of starfish on the sand.He only saw the little life he held there in his hand. He didn't stop to argue,to prove that he was right. He just kept tossing starfish in the sea with all his might. So I too stooped and picked up, and I tossed into the sea, And I thought just what a difference, that this boy has made in me."

Dancing My Legit Edge

A good friend of mine celebrated his birthday yesterday. (of course, “yesterday in this article only means the day before I wrote it and not the day before you read it) it was really cool for a come-chop-and-dance-if-you-know-how-to-or-not event. My friends and I got there on time and realised a number of people had been there a while longer. We got right down to the food because when it comes to birthdays people think of 2 things; food and hangout! As expected, there were many, “long time no see”, “where have you been?”, “na wa for you oh” and “guess we’ll see at the next party”.
