Industry Friends

I had the privilege to sit with 3 amazing gurus on a panel by Davies Okeowo's company RedBrooks Consulting for social media week and i learnt a whole lot but there is one lesson I will like to share.

FIND PEOPLE IN YOUR INDUSTRY TO BE FRIENDS WITH!

You learn more from those in your industry than those outside. You get to hear what is trending and what is new and how to deploy new apps and models...

Don't view your industry colleagues as competitors but rather as collaborators and contributors making your industry the greatest ever. Trust me, the market is big enough for us all.

The more your industry flourishes the more your own business will flourish.
Be tactful, find your blue ocean but also be thankful.

Think UBUNTU always!!!
These are some of my industry friends; Olatunde Samson CEO Business Impact Limited & Chinonso Ogbogu CEO SM Group.

Village Christmas

Its was village Christmas again.

Here I was taking a 20minute break from my 50+ relative at the family house as we take a pause from the family meeting to have dinner.

It is exciting to see everyone but having 50+ people cramped in a room eventually becomes exhausting. I just finished a 15minute talk on entrepreneurship and knowing my family to be the best critics I put in my very best and yes I knocked it right to Antartica.... Yipeee

As I waited for questions I began to see a market in Warri, Lagos, Abuja, Anyingba and Makurdi through my family connections.

"Always remember to exploit the opportunity your family presents to expand your scope"

My hide out was eventually compromised.... #AuntyDuties #Tmama #LovelyNiece

THE SCRATCH BOARD

The first edition of The Scratch Board held in Lagos on the 27th of June, 2015.

The idea of #TheScratchBoardLagos was born out of years of study and work as a business developer and enterprise educator. In 2007, I discovered I had an insatiable desire to build things and improve on every idea I heard.

We took modules from enterprise programs across academic platforms and practical application.

Let's do one-liners for each module;

Enterprise Education (start-up information for sustained enterprises -projects,programs,organisations,events,ideas).

Cultural Entrepreneurship (environmental influences on entrepreneurial activities-policies, customer buy-in, timing).
Innovation & Creativity (finding the "zing" in/for your idea).

Exploring Opportunities (ways to maximise chances - networking/negotiation).

Viability, Availability & Desirability (3 keys steps before leaping).

U-niche™ (self-awareness to self-application for unique performance).

Ubuntu Model™ (understanding the place of “people”).

Values (lifestyle statements for positive living).

Other topics we discuss are; legal implications for start-ups, basic accounting & digital marketing.

#TheScratchBoardLagos has evolved to a 2day program "THE ART OF THE START" in Abuja hence #TheScratchBoardAbj 24/25 November
